FAQ's

Frequently asked questions:

Q:  Do you build custom firepits?

A:  Yes, absolutely.  We've done many custom one-off firepits for our customers.  Please keep in mind that custom pits can increase costs significantly depending on what it is you're looking for.  Give us a call or send us an email with your thoughts and we'll be happy to discuss your goals.

Q:  Do you do propane or natural gas firepits?

A:  For sure!  We have a wide variety of gas burning elements and accessories available to transform any of our models to propane or natural gas.  Contact us directly to chat about what you'd like.

Q:  Can we pick up directly to avoid shipping costs?

A:  Yes you can.  Customer direct pickup has been a staple of our business and we will continue to offer this service for our valued customers.

Q:  How long will it take for us to receive our order?

A:  All of our products are built to order and usually have a build time of one to two weeks before shipping out.  Being as though our products aren't just a letter in the mail their size and weight demands cargo-type shipping and shipping time may vary depending on you location but generally speaking our products should arrive at their destination in 1 to 5 business days within Canada.

Q:  Is shipping expensive?

A:  Flameworx works closely with a Western Canadian based courier service and has procured some great rates for our customers.  An estimated cost is available through the checkout process but feel free to call or email with any further questions you may have.

Q:  Are your products built exactly as shown?

A:  All of our products are hand-fabricated and as such the finished product isn't completely identical with each build but you'd be hard pressed to really notice the differences unless you had multiple pits side by side for comparison.  Models do evolve over time with minor improvements being made here and there but we will not make any major design changes without posting pictures first.

Q:  What is the finish of the steel like on your products?

A:  We buy all of our steel from the same local supplier allowing us a fairly good stance on quality control.  Most of the steel we receive comes with a fairly nice blue-grey finish however sometimes it has been exposed to weather during shipping and shows up with a bit of surface rust on it.  Most of this comes off during the manufacturing process but some could be left on the finished product or it may appear during shipping as well.  This is out of our control and is just how the steel industry is but hey, just consider it pre-treatment to that beautiful patina'd look it's going to get sitting in your backyard anyways!  For those that don't like the idea of their firepit becoming patina'd please see the next Q&A below.

Q:  We don't like the patina look, does Flameworx offer any coatings on their products?

A:  We sure do.  99% of our products leave in bare steel but for those of you that want something a little less rustic looking we have outsourced a high-end coatings company to coat our products in a high-temp powdercoating.  These guys are not an industrial coatings company and pride themselves on quality and finish with every job.
